REPENT: Change/lament mourn from old ways of sins; such as lying, stealing, adultery, fornication, gossip, and etc…, Exodus 20
Repentance involves recognizing that you have thought wrongly in the past and determining to think rightly in the future. The repentant person has a second thoughts about the mindset he formerly embraced. There is a change of disposition and a new way of thinking about God, about sin, about holiness, and about doing God’s will. True repentance is prompted by “godly sorrow,” and it “leads to salvation”. “For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.”. 2 Corinthians 7:10 KJV
Forgiveness of Sins: The Lord Jesus is the great God of mercy and grace. He is so compassionate and never ceases His unconditional love for His children. The forgiveness of sins is through sincere repentance and acknowledgment of those sins before you can be saved alongside your household. “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”. Acts 2:38 KJV
Faith: All of salvation, including repentance and faith, is a result of God drawing us, opening our eyes, and changing our hearts. God’s longsuffering leads us to repentance. “Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?”. Romans 2:4 KJV
All these are required by faith. Faith without actions is dead. Therefore, repentance is required to exchange for the grace of the Lord Jesus Savior which purified us from all unrighteousness. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
1 John 1:9 KJV
Baptism of Spirit and Water: After repentance and receiving Jesus Christ; purify wash in the blood of Jesus Christ, you receive the Holy Spirit. Get water baptism. “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”. John 3:3-5 KJV
