This simply means that as long as you are alive, troubles and battles of life are inevitable, but the good news however is that Jesus Christ already overcame for us. So as long as we abide in Him we are sure to have peace, irrespective of how dark it may be outside because he alone is the prince of peace.
Ephesians 6:12 made it even clearer that these battles are not just against the physical but the battle is with principalities and powers…
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places Ephesians 6:12
But in all, we are more than conquerors because Jesus already went ahead and won the battles for us.
