Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. -Psalm 91:1-4
Dear Brethren, do you say your prayers at night time and asks God for divine protection? This is a problem with believers today that we are the children of the Most High God and to do the right thing we must have faith! I often believe that was really what we need to stand strong and feels the protection of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible states that when we rest on God, we shall be covered as in Psalm 91, look at the previous post blog and see the reality of what is going on in the world in case we don’t have enough protection and the security of our safety over our bodies and loved ones. The truth is, we cannot sleep without knowing what Jesus Christ has done today. We are all about the Father who is called ‘ABBA FATHER’ who is our great loving comforter. As it states in, “So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.” For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children.” Romans 8:15-16
The Father who protects, the Father who loves and cares very much for His children. I once belong to a ministry when doing the season of Rosh Hashanah the Jewish holiday as it is described, “Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, is one of Judaism's holiest days. ... Rosh Hashanah commemorates the creation of the world and marks the beginning of the Days of Awe, a 10-day period of introspection and repentance that culminates in the Yom Kippur holiday, also known as the Day of Atonement.” History Online; this Holiday at the church, we exchanged vows to the point of loving and putting God first in our daily lives. The vows exchange changes our lives situation and personal goals in our lives and family knowing Abba Father is always there to protect the needed and the poor. God is gracious and Holy God. He says He will guide us as long as we put our trusts in Him. The truth is that we must understand why we must rest upon Him all the times. The word Abba in Hebrews means “Father” as it is described in the Bible. The times of our vows, I personally would feel the significance changes, I received new heart and new restoration of new beginnings that calling upon the Lord Jesus, there’s safety there’s hope and understanding of the eternal love He has upon us on this earth. As it is written in the Bible “And because we are his children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, prompting us to call out, “Abba, Father.” Now you are no longer a slave but God’s own child. And since you are his child, God has made you his heir.” Galatians 4:6-7
So, everyone is born with a guardian Angel as it is in the book of Luke 2, at the birth of Jesus Christ, there were multitude of angels that was sent from heaven to protect baby Jesus Christ. In fact, baby Jesus Christ was always protected from birth all the way to His time of giving up His Spirit to the Father that loves and cares for us. The word of God as it is written, God the Father sends angels to protect Jesus from the jealous King who even wanted the Lord Jesus dead at an early. But when the word is written it is real and it is authentic as we should understand that protection comes when we pray and asks the Heavenly Father.
The ways we asks for protection is really by prayers and believing the One who guards us away from sins, the Son of God Jesus Christ. So, the way we asks for protection is through salvation and living right for God. When we accept the Lord Jesus Christ in our hearts and believing we feel protection because the Father sends His angels to guard us away from all unrighteousness. Remember that our competitor is the devil who is a natural born sinner tempting us to sin all of our lives. We sinned and fallen short to the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ. We asks and pray. We watch and pray and many other ways to asks God for protection.
For example, when we believe the word of God, Jesus especially what He has done by dying on the cross so we can receive freedom. The Bible teaches us to not fear when we are caught in troubles. For God says to us, Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. -Isaiah 41:10
When God says not to fear for He is with us, we must never disobey Him. Always put Him first and believe who is to us. God is loving and kind. He never fails His children therefore, trust God with everything and depend on His safety protection. In this bible verse, But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one. 2 Thessalonians 3:3.
Here are prayers to say and follows by bible chapter to reference in believing that Jesus Christ is our Faithful Father who lives and cares about us all.
The Prayer of Protection through the Armor of God.
Dear God, today we put on the full armor to guard our lives against attack. We put on the belt of truth to protect against lies and deception. We put on the breastplate of righteousness to protect our hearts from the temptations we battle. We put the gospel of peace on our feet, so we’re ready to take your light wherever you send us this day. We choose to walk in the peace and freedom of your Spirit and not be overcome with fear and anxious thoughts. We take up your shield of faith that will extinguish all the darts and threats hurled our way by the enemy.
We believe in your power to protect us and choose to trust in you. We put on the helmet of salvation, which covers our minds and thoughts, reminding us we are children of the day, forgiven, set free, saved by the grace of Christ Jesus. We take up the sword of the Spirit, your very Word, the one offensive weapon given to us for battle, which has the power to demolish strongholds, alive, active, and sharper than any double-edged sword.
We ask for your help in remembering to put on your full armor every day, for you give us all that we need to stand firm in this world. Forgive us God for the times we’ve been unprepared, too busy to care, or trying to fight and wrestle in our own strength. Reference Ephesians 6.
Repent daily, asks God to protect you in your times of protection.
PRAYER
“God’s Angels guard and keep you All the way that you must travel Till earth’s days are past When blossoms fade and Time is fleeting fast In times of purest joy Or pain and fear God’s Angels guard And keep you safe.
The cross of Christ be with me; The cross of Christ overcomes all water and every fire; The cross of Christ overcomes all weapons; The cross of Christ is a perfect sign and blessing to my soul. May Christ be with me and my body during all my life At day and at night. Now I pray, I [name], pray God the Father For the soul’s sake, and I pray God the Son for the Father’s sake, And I pray God the Holy Ghost for the Father’s and Son’s sake, And I pray God the Holy Ghost for the Father’s and the Son’s sake, That the holy corpse of God may bless me against all evil things, words, and works. In Jesus Name, Amen.
Shalom
