Citrus oil is derived from the skin of citrus fruits, giving it a very clean smell. Citrus oil tends to have a strong aroma, so if you're fragrance-sensitive, you may have trouble with this oil.
Primarily, citrus oil is used around the house for cleaning and keeping areas smelling fresh--even tough ones like the refrigerator. Put a few drops of citrus oil in some baking soda to keep your fridge smelling as new as the day you got it.
Citrus oil can also be used on your skin as an anti-inflammatory, particularly with acne. However, citrus oil can make you extra sensitive to the sun, so avoid direct sunlight if you use it on your skin.
If you're using it on your skin, you'll need to dilute citrus oil with a carrier. Luckily, at Wholesale Botanics, all of our oils are unaltered and don't have any synthetic thickeners or dilutions added, which makes them ideal for mixing. We quality-check throughout the process of each oil's manufacture, and everything's packaged in our GMP-certified facility in the Pacific Northwest. This means you can rest assured knowing you're getting the highest quality citrus oil available.
