Eugenol, also known as clove oil, is derived from clove trees much like the spice. Clove trees are native to Southeast Asia, and the oil can be collected from the flower buds as well as stems and leaves from the tree.

Eugenol is most popularly used to soothe toothaches and itchy skin. This is in part because of eugenol's antimicrobial properties, as well as its natural painkilling ability. If you have very sensitive skin, it's best to do a patch test and/or consult your doctor before introducing any topical supplements.

Eugenol is a very potent essential oil that needs to be diluted before being applied topically. All the oils at Wholesale Botanics, including carrier oils, are pure and unaltered without any added synthetic thickeners (or other dilutions). This makes them ideal for mixing.

At Wholesale Botanics, we closely monitor each of our oils throughout the manufacturing process, and perform frequent quality checks. This means that only the highest quality oils reach the shelves, and then your cabinet or skin. All of our oils are packaged in the Pacific Northwest, in a GMP-certified facility.
