Dealing with Inherited Sickness DEALING WITH INHERITED SICKNESS
Some people are suffering from inherited sicknesses. These are the kind of diseases or infirmities that run in a family. Some people are born only to discover they are deformed. The deformity they suffer is not any fault of their own, they just inherited it.
Jesus was confronted with this kind of challenge in John chapter nine. The man in question was born blind and His disciples asked to know where the fault was from. They asked if it was the blind man that sin or his parents. Jesus, in response told them that it was neither the sin of the man nor that of his parents; it was rather an opportunity for God to show forth His power and glory. John 9:1 And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. 2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? 3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him. 4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. 5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. 6 When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay, {anointed…: or, spread the clay upon the eyes of the blind man} 7 And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing. Sickness, in whatever form it appears is of the devil. God is not the originator of diseases. Whatever you are going through right now is an opportunity for God to show forth His power and glory in your life. I want to show you some Bible facts about healing.
Sickness is not of God. It is quite hard for people to believe this statement. Their argument is that it is God who created all things including sickness.
Well, sickness was never part of God’s creation. The account of creation in Genesis 1 and 2 didn’t mention sickness as one of those things that God created. When God created the heaven and earth, He saw that everything He made was good. Everything God made was good but you and I know that sickness is not a good thing. No one is ever happy being sick. Nobody has ever come to testify to the goodness of God for making him or her sick. Satan is the Architect of Sickness and Disease
Man was deceived by the devil. The devil is the one who brought calamity upon humanity. How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! Isaiah 14:12
This scripture confirms that it was the fall of Satan that brought about calamity to the human race. He is the one who introduced sin to the world. The Bible calls him the man of sin. Jesus came purposely to destroy the works of the devil. 1John 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
