For instance, I am born into the Ijeh family. I didn’t choose to be born there. I can’t do anything to stop being a part of Ijeh lineage. Even if I decide to change my name or relocate far away from my family, my foundation still remains. The fact still remains that I belong to the Ijeh family. If the man Ijeh were to be alive today or if his bones were taken to the laboratory, science through DNA will be able to trace me to him. If science could trace me to Ijeh, most definitely, spiritual forces can trace me to him. 2# Your foundation is your root and origin upon which your life is built. It is your foundation that forms your root. It shows where you are coming from. It also shows what is following you. Whatever runs in your root has easy access into your life. Your foundation determines your world view. Your idea of life and how you see the world around you are formed from your foundation. Your foundation also determines what you run back to when you face seemingly insurmountable obstacles. For instance, if you came from the background of science and technology, you will recourse to that for solution to your problem. If your foundation is spiritism and rituals, you will also be drawn to that for solution 3# Your foundation is the structure and bedrock upon which your life rests. It determines to an extent what will appeal to you and what will make you apprehensive. If you come from a foundation that recognizes many taboos and sacredness, you will naturally see taboo when others see excitement. What excites others may scare you. Your foundation forms your believe system. 4# Your foundation can affect your spiritual, social life as well as your character. Most people struggle in their spiritual lives because of forces from their foundation. This happens especially when you change your spiritual root by becoming born again. You will face serious spiritual battles because you have introduced another spirit into your lineage. You can also face dire consequence if you decide to disobey spiritual orders left behind by your ancestors. Your foundation also goes a long way to decide the social norms you will adapt to and the ones you will reject blatantly. For instance, in many parts of Africa, a younger person doesn’t call an older person by name; it is considered an insult. So if you find yourself in the mixed of people who don’t have such tradition, you will find yourself struggling to adapt. 5# Your foundation is hidden and invisible. One major challenge with foundation is that it is hidden and invisible. Just like the foundation of a building, it is hidden in the ground yet it carries and sustains the structure that is seen. You may not know much about your foundation, but you are who you are by virtue of your foundation. Most of the things in your foundation would require spiritual insight and revelation to discover. This is exactly why so many people don’t know what is wrong with them. You need the Spirit of God to reveal what is in your background to you so as not wallow in ignorance and spiritual darkness.
